    Hi all,

New to the forum - first post. After collecting/trading Rolex and Seiko for years, I decided it was time to get a Speedmaster. I've owned one a modern Pro before and the MK II was my first "major" vintage watch purchase. I've always wanted a Speedy in the collection, but it had to be vintage and a step dial was non negotiable. I bought this one. How did I do?

For me, Speedmasters is a jungle. I know the bezel is new, and I'm fine with that, but what about the pushers? Service parts? Dial, hands and case is to my eye in great condition. The watch came with the 1711 bracelet. I've ordered an extract on the watch already. The watch is running great and I'm really enjoying it.

Looks nice, I'm sure you're aware, the bezel is not period correct for a '69....still looks great tho.

    Enjoy wearing it.

Well they look like non speedmaster, possibly non Omega pushers.

Pushers are one of the hardest things to make out in photos

The crowns look different too in the above pictures. Bottom one has the lines at the back that you’ll expect on an old crown, but the top one looks like they’re missing. Maybe it’s a modern replacement ?

Well, mines an A1, as the watch is a 145.012-67. His is a B1 or B2, and there’s still disagreement about whether these were fitted to 60’s Speedmasters originally or as service replacements. So, the crown isn’t as clear an issue as the pushers.

    To me, anyway.

OK, with this serial it should have a DON bezel.

Attractive dial and hands - looks like a solid wearer.

How you did depends largely on what you paid. The pushers are fixable for fairly minimal out-lay. If you want to stick a DON on, that’s going to cost you.... I frankly wouldn’t as I don’t think it would add enough value to justify the price.

Agree. I was aware of the DON situation - and I really don’t mind. The pushers I wasn’t sure about, but it’s an easy fix.

    I traded a 214270(mk 1) + change for the watch. I think it’s a fair price.

You gave a 39mm Explorer 1 and cash for this? Or you got cash back?
