14396 Constellation Service Photos

I always love the great photos that Chris at CJN Watches takes before, during and after service. Thought might be of interest to other Connie fans.

Under high mag the dial looks a little dirty and some spotting from aging. The crystal is also dirty and scratched so expect improvement once cleaned and polished.

Thankfully these watches seem to be not at a price that makes it worth faking/redoing all the details of dial/case etc. Therefore, in my experience fakes and redials are discernible with due diligence against reference image sets of dial, case etc.......happy hunting.

@Banner Roar are those spots on the dial and if so, did he managed to remove them?

Majority of these Asian examples have some spotting on the dial. The dial was lightly cleaned to remove any loose debris.

Thanks @Banner Roar for the kind words.

@Zapatta I can say that the light spotting on the dial is there to stay, short of removing the lacquer which I do not recommend. You really cannot see those tiny marks when the watch is in hand and it is a stunning example. I see a lot of watches and this one has the unusual large size plus a quite gorgeous dial. I was very much taken with this and would be very happy to have it in my collection.

Sometimes I worry about pointing out small, almost unnoticeable, things like this but, not in this case as @Banner Roar is a seasoned collector. I wish you all the best with your watches too👍

@ChrisN my 2943 pie pan with arrowhead markers has IMHO pretty clean dial with few spots but obviously not worth of taking risk to make it perfect. I will leave it like it is. :whipped:

I do get a buzz when collecting a watch back from Chris. Along side one of my 14777 ref connie I've been wearing for a while.
