    Here’s a bit of 135 esoterica ... Studded Lugs

(Writing this on a flight and will load images when I can - so apologies for no pictures. I promise to make it up with appropriate Cal.135 photo content :)

I’ve a rose gold 18k cal.135 whose case has studded lugs and thus calls for female spring bars. I didn’t even know there *were* female spring bars! (I took a look at Ofrei site and there are lots of them, it seems.)

Has anyone else got a cal 135, or late 50’s early 60’s Zenith case for that matter, that calls for these bars?

Many gold cases across multiple brands were made with studded lugs. A good number of my Zenith 156s and Universal geneves come with such lugs. I read somewhere that these were used because the belief was that regular holes would wear in soft gold - don't know if that is in fact true. The female lugs are tricky to handle and finicky. Go figure.
