Its been worth the wait. Full overhaul and everything works perfectly. My watchmaker did a great job. On a matte blue Hirsch gator. Can't wait to wear this more.
Given conventional wisdom that signed crowns did not appear till the 50s. Possibly a replacement crown. To me it's a plus not a minus as I love the look of a signed crown.
very nice larry ... you are now in with the hardcore collectors. Just make sure the wife does not find out.
The cool part is that, though, I'd done business with this shop before I'd never taken complex watches to them until my gold 30CH arrived not ticking. Prior to this I'd been working with a shop downtown, competent but known for outrageous fees. Since then they've overhauled two 30CH, quick repair my 22242, overhauled this watch and are in process on the recently arrived steel Tri all for less than one watch at the old place. They are 10 minutes max from my house.
Looks great! One of my tri's has been out for repairs almost 8 months, still not done, and the repair bill is approaching what I paid for the watch. Frustrating. What is the case size on this one?
38mm. Im assuming the truant watch is the one we discussed long ago and needs a lot more TLC as I recall. This was running but set pushers either didn't work or were slow. Had I more experience with this shop when we discussed your watch, I would have recommended them. I would not heasitate to do so now.
Yep, that's the one. Knowing what I do now, would have gone in a different direction on the service, but hindsight 20/20 right? I'll just be happy to get it back and working, soon, I hope.
