Thanks

Call your nearest OB, they can ship to you if your not close. AD’s are not as helpful.

be aware initial fitting needs to be done by someone that knows what they are doing.

Excellent, thanks for the replies. I actually emailed Omega direct and they asked for the full reference, I will try to pop into an OB at the weekend (although I live in Japan so it may be cheaper to buy in the UK and have someone ship to me). Does anyone have an idea of the price? (GBP or USD)
Yes I have read it can be tricky and some filing may even be required.

Had mine installed at the Houston OB back in October. $450.00-$487.00 w/tax. No charge for the filing and fitting. Of course I slipped the watchmaker gratuity and he threw in a red Omega travel case.

Sydney Australia OB charges AUD 650 incl 10% tax. = USD 443 incl tax. Looks like OB pricing here is comparable with the USA but you'd need to check the UK. The Sydney OB is not able to ship overseas.

I have just come across the 020STZ011626.
It seems to be a more sturdy version with the more classic look. Has anyone seen it in the flesh not sure whether to go for that instead or accept the charm of the tinny feel on the 1171.

The price for a 1171-1 is 430 EUR. I prefer this bracelet to the Apollo 11 one. It is lighter, with a vintage feel, has better proportions (the buckle is 16mm wide vs.18mm for the Apollo 11) and it is cheaper!

Strictly speaking you can't currently buy a 1171-1, that was around in the 80s and 90s, the current model is back to being named just 1171/633. Maybe that is what is confusing Omega. The bracelet has changed many times over the years since it was introduced in the early 1970s, its had screws, push pins and all manner of clasp logo designs. 1171 describes around 6 different designs.

Yes indeed, you're perfectly right. So a brand new 1171/633 costs 430 EUR. My remarks on preference still apply.

Interesting thread. I think I will give it a miss as there could be some fitting issues.
I have actually found one for £580/$750 but presumably that is a markup on what the OB would sell it for. If anyone is interested though. let me know and I ill send the link.

Understood regarding the reference, and thanks for the price information.

There are no issues: it doesn’t fit.
