Saw a similar dial under a year ago at a way more reasonable price.

 

Well honestly it seems the right price.

What is a 2998-3+ without a dial worth? Probably $12,000 - 15,000 if correct but for the missing dial (perhaps a service dial)

A correct and attractive 2998-3+ (and with this dial it will be) then is is worth $22,000 to 25,000.

Recent sales at Christies were at 20k but the dials were not as good.

The dial is the heart of the attraction, and therefore the value.

I recall the "this is crazy money" discussions when DO90 bezels were sold for the 1st time @ 1k ... Now they seem to fetch 3k...
