Hi everyone, Just a little thread with my 105.012-64 Delevery : 30 avril 1964 Italia Dial without the T T Mouvement number : 20.521. XXX The good crown is in his way from the US ;-) The classic pics after / before Credit to Pianiste for his beautifull work Just happy to have my first 321 Stéphane
A few word from omega who let the mystery go on ;-) Dear Mr., Due to the nature of vintage archives in certain cases information has not survived, is unreadable or even missing. We regret to inform you that unfortunately the provided serial number (20.521.XXX) falls onto that category, so we are unable to issue an Extract of the Archives. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Best regards,
Hi, I am a new member from Belgium I have restored this nice speedmaster. I am specialized in "reluming" hands and dials.
Look at this one : And mine (credit Richard for the pics) For what i know : one of the first 105.012 / very rare dial without the T T mark ....
Is it just me or is does anyone else have a problem with reluming and/or refinishing these speedy dials? Even the one with the extract does not preclude refinishing.
Steve - I'm not a fan of reluming dials either. I'd prefer one in original condition with shaky or missing tritium, than one that's been relumed.
Question on the two dials pictured above: note that the words "SWISS MADE" on the first dial appear taller than on the second. That tall "SWISS MADE" text - what's the deal with it?? I've seen it once or twice before, but rarely. Much more often, the font "SWISS MADE" (on radium dials) is as appears on the second dial above (the ACP one). cheers, Mark
Is it possible that the printing on the dial of the OPs watch was refinished, as well as it being relumed ? Perhaps Pianist or Stef2010 could clarify.
Both dials look fine to me, and lovely at that. In the second picture of the OPs dial the wording "Swiss made" just looks elongated by the curve of the plexi. Nothing to worry about in IMO. Re-luming is personal preference, I think it improves the look of some watches. Cheers Mick
Original, relumed starts starts down a slippery slope and it does hurt the value and saleability. If you want clean and tidy, get a new dial, but keep the original with the watch and untouched.
