    Hey guys,

I was looking at this good condition 105.012-66 CB which has had a service dial put in and was thinking that I have a narrow T 105.012 dial + hands sitting in a Mark II I picked up earlier this year. Would this dial be appropriate to sit into this watch?

MWO states that these dials 'rarely' appear in this model (66) (from memory), or should i wait for an earlier 105.012 to make use of the dial?

How much would you consider spending on this piece, and what would you think the value of a 105.012 B2 dial would be? (dial in question below)

    Cheers,
    Ed

From what I've seen, narrow T dials show up in 105.012-66 HF more often than CB, but it's not unheard of. This seems like a good candidate for your dial and hands, since it retains its DON bezel, but I'd want to see the pushers from a few more angles - they look like they could be replacements.

Can you post some pictures of the back of the old dial? The dial's feet have already been modified (or removed altogether) to be placed on cal. 861 and may not fit cal. 321 anymore.

You should try a 861 dial on your watch first before buying that dial.

The Mark II hasn't been to a watchmaker since purchase, and I can open the case but not confident enough to remove the dial! I know that the feet would have been shortened to fit a cal 861, but that can be repaired?

This is the 'best' photo to show the pushers

    Do you reckon they're original?

Hard for me to tell with 100% certainty there - they have the wide stems, but the caps look too tall.

As others have said though, first I'd get the narrow T dial out of your Mark II and find out if it's usable, as cut down dial feet are very difficult to rectify.

Hmm I'll have to see, probably won't be able to have a peek at the mark 2 dial before the sale ends. Not confident to do it myself, and don't know a local watch maker.

I didn't know the feet were that difficult to fix!

Easier to go from 321 to 861, I've heard, as you're removing material of the feet. Going the other way requires adding, which likely means heat. Which means potential danger for the dial..

i don’t think lengthing 861 feet slightly to fit a 321 movement is much to worry about. Not nearly as risky as replacing a missing foot.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

What would you value the watch as? Or what would the value of a B2 dial be, so I can minus this from the speedmaster101 price chart to get an idea of what I could invest.

    Thanks!

I'd say an unharmed B2 dial would be in the 2500-3000 range. Roughly.

Lengthening alone won't be enough to fit. Throwing enough money at it may work though.
