    Hey Peeps-

After sadly missing out on this onePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network, I'm still on the hunt for a nice looking 105.012. This one popped up on Chronocentric today, and was curious for your opinions. It is a bit expensive, but this feels like one of those that looks expensive and then looks cheap in hindsight.

    To my eye:

Dial is in pretty good shape. 5 o clock lume plot is getting gunky, but otherwise, nice color. Slight nick on the second subdial.
DO90 bezel in awesome shape. Small blemish at ~72
CB Case looks mostly unmolested (maybe a polish?). Clear facet lines on bottom lugs, correct for CB. I was worried about the top lugs, seems like the facet is there, but not sure?
Movement looks clean, in the correct range 2544xxxx
Hands seem original, lume has darkened a bit, which is fine w me.
Matching caseback, but does have corrosion. Seems suspicious since the movement is pretty clean. Normal?

    Any gotchas I'm missing?

    Yes.

Pushers - almost the very first thing I check when looking at a 105.012!

Easily done, I often miss the most obvious.

For comparison. Note the height of the pushers.

This watch has early service hands.

Hello mate. Nice to see you are keen on a 105.012. This is my own 105.012. (One or two bits are early service items). You mentioned that you felt the watch on offer was a bit expensive. I check Speedmaster101 prices and the Chrono24 range now and again, but I'm interested to know what you've found the wider market range is on this reference.

My watch is going in for service and a light clean at Swiss Time Services soon and I'm trying to work out the value of my watch in the market price range. Have you found a wide variation in prices?
    Jonathan.

When the OP watch lost it's original pushers, might have said goodbye to the flat foot crown as well.

    Agree.

I am of the school it's better to own a watch than none at all.

Turning my nose up at a watch is a luxury acquired by ownership.
