Hi, I’m considering to buy this nice Speedmaster from an elderly gentleman in another part of the country. I apologize for the bad pic, I asked again and second one was even worse. I think bezel, and hands are no problem, but the dial looks very “new” to me. Could this be some kind of service dial from late sixties? It has the applied logo, but the lume does not have the yellowish look I’m used to with pre moon examples. Any thoughts are welcome.
Here are my few thoughts: CB case. Not sure about the hands (service maybe). Even considering the poor quality of the picture I'd expect to find a step on the dial, but can't see it. Crown and pushers appear to be wrong. It must be a very good price if you consider to buy this watch having seen only this picture.
I am glad you can tell that this is a "nice speedmaster". Would you really buy this based on this pic? And can you really expect us to discuss it's merits? I need a reality check.......... someone..........please.
Wow, the pic gives an indication of the gentlemans elderlyness, but not of the watches merits BTW, next time before posting click on options and than on preview. Just trying to help.
It is a tritium dial - but my knowledge of service dials for 321's is pretty lacking. Hands are awfully white. I guess you should ask him if he has any baggies of spare parts around too. Are we talking FMV for a -66 or are we talking "this is a great deal and maybe I should jump on it even though the pictures were taken with a rutabaga during an earthquake"?
I'm a little woozy from looking at the picture, but it looks OK. I hope you're buying this with a heavy "Risk discount" though...
Hello Ed....Give us a fighting chance mate???...... Ask the old boy to try taking the photo while he's not scratching his bollocks???
Op asked a question and stated the same time that his picture is bad and he can't get better ones for now. Maybe the seller has Parkinson disease? Doesn't seem like a joke to me.
The OP asked if it might be a service dial. And I told him not sure, because I can't see the step. Where do you see it?
