Here is one I agonized about selling. It is lovely. I think there is no better one on the market today.

Unfortunately, as our house nears completion and the bills mount up Mrs Fruit is being very reasonable but we have to let go of watches where I have multiple examples of the same reference.

Absolutely wonderful example of how a vintage watch should be. Original, in very good condition and all correct, inside and out.

It has an exceptional grey Bezel, correct original pushers, and sharp facet lines on the case. Everything you want in a Cental Boites cased example.

It has retained the original pushers.
A perfect dial.

It is not NOS but it is definitely what I consider collector grade.

Here are the sides:

Not perfect but very, very good and to my knowledge this has not been polished.

And the back:

Bracelet is a correct 1039 marked 4/68

Movement is serviced by STS on T44948 3 December 2015. Because pushers and crown were retained it is not waterproof.

Why am I selling?
Well I have another one as good - that one has papers so it won the "who is staying" race. As anyone who knows me through this forum knows, Mrs Fruit is getting a house and its costing me a fortune. I don't use banks to keep my wealth, I use objects and speedmasters are part of my wealth storage.

Who am I?
I am a enthusiastic private collector, holding a large number of watches. Up until now I rarely sell, and indeed what I am selling is a small proportion. I remain deeply committed to collecting. I sell only when I need to finance something else. I do not acquire watches to profit, but to collect. Of course I welcome an uplift when I sell, but it is not my motive. I have many references here on this forum, and I wrote the site www.speedmaster101.com. My reputation is extremely important to me.

Terms
Price is £12,500,

Payment by Bank Wire, in UK pounds sterling to my company account in Hong Kong, or Crypto currency. (HSBC compelled me to acquire my special objects through a company account, as the amounts were varying, unpredictable, and they would not let me do it through my private account. So thats why you have to send it to my company). If you are uncomfortable with this, then I will wait until you are. Or come and meet me.

Returns
While they are not welcomed, I will take it back if you are seriously miserable and very, very nice about it. Obviously you have to pay the shipping, and get it back to me in the same condition as I sent it. And it has to be before I have had time to hand the money over to Mrs Fruit. (So about a week, no more).

Delivery
Face to face is welcome, in UK, GU8 area. UK delivery is by registered Mail, insured to 2500. I think a watch of this value I would prefer to hand it over to you. So I will happily try to meet up.
Otherwise I can ship in USA via parcel pro after 25th April or any other way you want. Or Face to face in Chicago after 25th. (Ill be there a week) Ironically I can ship in USA for full insurance cover.

Well the buyer had paid but the watch had not yet left me when he discovered a grail. So I am unwinding the sale, and yes the buyer was very, very nice about it. This is after all a hobby and we must all be happy.

So it’s on the market again, I would love a UK buyer but happy to ship in USA after 24th.

If I hadn't just purchased a lovely 145.022-71 from Spacefruit and another at the weekend, I'd be all over this one! Need to sell something fast!

To be clear, this was returned to sale but almost immediately re sold by a speedy UK buyer who said the magic words:

" I will buy this now at your price"

They are the words to use.

Apologies to all who missed it, and there were a lot, it went to the first who said that.

Well done to both parties in this sale. Very encouraging for all of us on this forum, and a great example of a sales transaction conducted in a fair and honourable manner. A very special watch. I don't think any of us thought this would take long to find a new home.😀
