Is this a decent example? Price is high IMO approaching US$6k, but perhaps negotiable.

Hard to tell without better pictures. Is it a dot over 90 bezell? Are the lugs squared off? The upper right looks heavily polished.

From the pics, the movement and the dial look nice. As the 103's go, I see mostly -65's. Could a -64 be a bit scarcer?

I will defer to the experts. I take so much from this forum, I can't wait to be a contributor!

    Noob comments:-

Dial - appears clean; even patina of hands and hour markers.
Movement - clean, nice. 24 MM serial? Think ok?
    Crown - service, not original.
Pushers - not sure about size.

Most important, wait for experts to comment better!

I was contemplating between this one and another speedy at one time. Case is polished with replacement crown. The pic does not show the full bezel so I will ask for more pic to confirm if it is a DON.

Seems to tick the right boxes as far as equipment goes. However nothing from the photos makes me sit up and think, "that's a good one! - you must not let it go!" The case seems over polished.

Price is at the top end of actual trades, and my guess is it is from a dealer. Nothing wrong with that, just make sure he knows about omegas. I have seen some primarily Rolex dealers with some very expensive and/or unattractive speedmasters. I have seen some really good ones too.

this reference trades at around 4500-5500

i need to see proper pictures to see where in the scale i think it lies.

straight lug speedmasters are becoming very scarce, so maybe my prices need reviewing.

Thanks all. The more I look, the less I like it. Not bad, but would be settling I think. In better shape $6k would not be outrageous IMO. :(

I've been trying to put horns on that for a long long time, but the spotty dial just doesn't appeal to me (love the tone). Plus I'm probably missing some tiny nuance that makes it a pass, like replacement fill-in-the-blank, etc.
They (Jacek) are not always firm on the price. Of course, it helps to visit the shop with a fist full of cash ;)

This one is on the 'bay currently. Looks pretty good to me, but the price is high.

I have certain concerns about it as well. . .in addition to what you pointed out, the hands have clear evidence of corrosion, and the movement also looks spotty. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say there was some water incursion into the movement.

    Remember-
You never pay too much. You merely buy too soon!

This is not an endorsement of the watch by the way. I haven't really looked that closely at it. They have more than one listed, the other nearly as pricey.

Jacek's always been a straight shooter with me, to the point of talking me out of a watch he thought was not as good as what I was looking for.

Here's another to pick apart, or have a go at, depending on how look at it.

Wrong bezel and sweep hand, degradation on the dial ;)
