I did a dress watch, how about this Sharkhunter Sub 200 watch from Doxa? Comes in multiple colours but the black looks great in my opinion.

Does get in line at a Swatch shop, buy a MoonSwatch, sell for +50$, repeat 4 times, get the proper 1200$ watch count? 😁 I feel like that’s a common sport right now…

In the knife world it’s get your whole family to buy 2 knives each and have 8 on eBay for double the price within the 12 minutes to sell out period has finished.😗

Automatic, titanium, under $1000 CAD

Reminds me of a long departed auto-zilla

I really like that Doxa in orange.
For my relative, I’d suggest a Seiko 5 with GMT @ $475.

For $1,000 I'd tell my friend
New: nothing comes to mind
Used: how about a Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph ?

So… What are you suggesting.
I suggest to ask:
- Which color? Steel, gold, bronze?
- Which style? Sporty or elegant?
- Which kind? Diver, chrono, time only, date?

Apart from that: Baltic has some nice watches.

$1k is a nice spot with lots of good options- most of my pics have already been said-
Hamilton
Longines
Glycine
Bulova Milship of course (although not really a watch for a newbie)
Some really nice options in that price point.

With a $1000 budget, I'd buy two watches:
- Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical,
- Baltic MR01.

I would suggest, if they are looking for a diver style watch, the Baltic Aquascaphe. I believe with the bracelet it goes for around 680 new! Give you some extra money for other bracelets or some nice leather straps!

Photo for reference, this is not my photo!

Ok… your at a Thanksgiving or a Christmas dinner and your relative is wearing a IWatch.

They say they want a real watch as their next watch.. Mechanical. They have a $1000 limit.

So… What are you suggesting.

3 Rules
1) must be modern
2) must post a picture
3) must be under $1000US
Baltic Aquascaphe Regular or Dual Crown….

This is an excellent resource for my friend who has a pile of watches. They are all modern and most are below the $1000 mark.

I am being redundant because my Bulova has already appeared at least twice on this thread.

Amazing watch. So underrated and made me sell a pile of vintage watches that could not compete with it.

The bracelet is nice and thick and from a $10 jar of cheap watches at a thrift store.
