Does anyone here have Wilt Chamberlain type watch numbers?

Some quick back of an envelope calculations tells me that some of you are at the very least, very close. If you buy (5) watches a week for (4) years, that crosses home plate. Sorry for the mixed sports metaphors. I fumbled on the goal line...

My aim is to own ten watches, so far I have 5 and to be honest I am not sure how often 10 watches will get decent amount of wrist time, I suppose it will work out over the years, but what is the point of having a 1000 watches or even 100 watches sitting in boxes, unlike some things that people collect like stamps I think watches need to be worn so having too many is a bit of a waist.

Years ago, I bought a watch from a guy (now deceased) that owned 875..................from one maker! The American watch maker, Aurora. The dearly departed's wife reportedly spent the rest of her years winding up the estate! As for me? About 120 odd, wrist and pocket, but projects to last me for 50 years, or so.

I have never sat down to count. Probably north of 2K complete and running but mostly of little monetary value. Regular rotation of the A team is about 50 watches.

the watch box on my bedside table has 6 slots, so it's only 6 for me (not counting the safe and the other watch boxes).

About 25 total, 10 wrist and 15 pocket..... beyond this kind of number how you can give each enough time on the wrist to keep the mechanisms healthy?

I think those who have huge numbers should dump them onto the forum members cheap so they can get some reasonable use!

for the good of the mechanisms!

Ha ha ha! Winding...I get it!
I'm up to six, has been as high as two dozen, and as low as two. Between the Grail and two forever-keeper gifts, I'll always have at least three. But five or six works best I think.
Ask me again next year 😀

As long as you wear and enjoy them I don't think it matters how many you own. I suppose for me I don't really understand the person who keeps a watch in a safe and doesn't wear it. As a previous forum member said, a watch is something to be worn.

I did meet someone once who must have had hundreds of watches from little value vintage type things to old Rolex and some pretty high end classic stuff, he liked to buy stuff cheap and fix them up too he had an amazing collection.

Let's see...4 times 5 carry the 2...

Time to build a watch closet!

I'm around 20. I think it would be neat some day to wear a different watch every day for a month.

Anywhere from 3 to 8 at any given time for me. I wear my watches, no matter how new or vintage. I wouldn't mind hearing @LouS or @MMMD chime in on this thread 🙄

You didn't tell her they were boxes for the jewelry you were planning to buy her?

Although known for speedmasters, I have a penchant for unusual watches under 200 each. I buy them where I travel and they all have some attraction. This way I can leave them out and my family can enjoy them.
