I used to hover between 40 - 60 watches, but I've easily owned over 1000 with all the flipping I've done. Now I'm trying to cut down to single digits. I know former addicts that have done it before me so there's precedent.

Sub 100 here and seriously thinking of doing the unthinkable and thinning the herd. That is so scary. I have given away watches, several times, but never sold one - even the thought frightens me.

Single digits? Plural of digit? Many single digits put together makes a nice figure馃榾
I have much the same idea about cutting down, problem is there are more being bought than sold. Do the maths!馃槣 Not too many battery powered ones amongst the lot I suspect?馃榾

How many do I have? The actual count is irrelevant. Rather like the square root of two - it is an irrational number.

So I will describe it thusly...

Too many, and yet not enough.

Unfortunately, the square root of negative one better describes my collection.

Although known for speedmasters, I have a penchant for unusual watches under 200 each. I buy them where I travel and they all have some attraction. This way I can leave them out and my family can enjoy them.
I call that, "Diversion Tactic #4."

Definitely not me, but I know a couple of guys who are in that category and with a lot of heavy duty pieces (one of them opened his large safe to show me the contents and had an entire tray (maybe 40+ watches) just of repeaters. He also had several tourbillons sitting there, plus a number of other serious watches. And then he told me that his real good stuff was at his bank. The other guy was sporting a RM tourbillon when I saw him recently.

8 watches for me. have my eye on watch number 9 with some thoughts as to what 10 and 11 will be as well. 20 sounds like a good number....I think. 馃憥

I've got all of 4 watches. And only one of them is my daily driver.

I'm around 20. I think it would be neat some day to wear a different watch every day for a month.
Meh... its ok...

I think I'm about 10% of 1000...not entirely sure. If I count them, then I have to admit how many I truly have in the boxes and cases. I also will be culling down, as it is hard to wear them all. ::facepalm1::
And like some other members, I am finding my grail territory is filling up!馃グ

But ask me tomorrow, and I may have different reasons for keeping them all!

It is, but then you find one you really like, and find...yourself...struggling...to take it...off...馃槻

I think the max I had was around 30-40, but lately I've been cutting down my collection and have maybe 20.

Just to correct the record, Wilt claims to have bedded 20,000 women.... 馃榿

My goal is to be content with 20 watches or less. I'm not sure if its possible, but I'm going to try really hard.

This sort of thing. This box is from a trip to Prague several years ago. Found a pile of NOS PRIMS as well as assorted soviet junk. Dont get me started on the NOS HMT's, the most expensive was $14. Dont panic, its all they are worth. (India's best)

Nothing wrong with cool cheap watches...let me known if you want to let go of that red prim diver in the top row. 馃榾
