The A3818 has been on my wishlist since I chanced upon my A386. And I have always thought I won't find one given that I have seen a few A386s sold on ebay and at dealers but I do not see the A3818. MMMD showed his newly acquired A3818 a while ago and hope was again rekindled. And lucky me, one went up for sale and it arrived yesterday.
Watch is generally in good condition. Case looks to be unpolished or has been only lightly polished as the brushed finishing is evident on the case thus a bonus for me. Only issue that held me back for a second was the wrong red chrono sweep seconds. But I decided the condition is so good and watch being uncommon in the market that I decided I can find the correct hand in the future. I do ask myself why it has been replaced when the rest of the watch looks to be in overall good condition. If anyone has a spare correct one or can point me in the direction of one, I will be very grateful.

And Lou, I now agree with you nothing touches the A386.

    Thanks for watching.

Friend Gavin, that case is in astonishing condition. You did right to grab it and overlook the second hand. IN addition, you have an immaculate tachymeter bezel (these tend to degrade, like the Espada and the A 783) and a perfect dial, with intact lume aged to just the right shade of cream. The second hand is hard - but not impossible - to come by, and you've got nothing but time. Frankly, I didn't miss it when I was staring slack-jawed at those case edges.

I keep scrolling up to look at the pictures as I type this - mama, but what a case!

Thanks Lou. I will now spend more time hunting the correct hand instead of watches now I hope.:D

And forgot about the obligatory wristshot.

That might even be sharper than mine...OW! Shouldn't have tried to touch without protective gloves...

Collectionism world is nice because every one got a personal opinion about the watches.
I have traded mine A3818 two years ago because it have not what I ask and I love in all 3019:
fantasy and color in every dial..
Much more nice on photos but not at wrist...

You're right Gigi. Agree with you on every point. I have always thought I will love this more than the A386 being a blue dial. But I realised that's not the case when I put it on the wrist. Still major love for it though.:)

Very nice pick up. Finding a replacement second hand will be considerably easier than finding a case or dial that sharp again.

Very nice, I'm a huge fan of dials with vertical brushed finishing, the way they catch the light is briliant
