What say the members about the hands?
I am in two minds are they old or new(ish)?

What ever I like the watch!

When you take a close look, I am on the side of they are newer, but I couldn't tell when he sent me his photos as he's not a great photographer. But all in all 4 the price and the reference I'm pretty happy

I like the 145.022-68 transitionals. Something for everyone. Old dial, new chrono seconds hand, old bezel, new movement, old caseback. I'm old enough to remember 1968 and it certainly was a year of transition.

Thank you. Yeah, hopefully next on the list is a nice 321. But I will be kind of picky on that 1. I will most likely find it at a watch show presumably

    Nice one!

Hands are not difficult to restore with some hunting, and the hunt is half the fun :)

Since Spacefruit asked, I think the hands are original, the lume on the hands still match the dial lume.

Ahh cool. It seems 4 the money, these early 861's r the best bang 4 the buck

Although I'm a huge fan of the caliber 321, the 861 has proven to be a durable, reliable successor with greater accuracy and simpler (and less costly) repair. This would be my choice of 861's, for the aforementioned applied logo, DO90 bezel, and caseback.
    Very well done. Congrats!

The nice thing is I always see them at watch shows, so they might b the sleepers of speedmasters.

Here's mine! This is a very early 145.022-68. Still has the drop counter weight chrono seconds hand. The movement number is 26559xxx. I suppose this is one of the first Speedmasters with the caliber 861 movement.

Ahh very cool. I didn't really know that many people liked them since they weren't a 321 caliber.
