@Lew Archer thanks for sharing your photos and review. Did you consider buying the Aquaterra (spectre)? Also, do you think it looks good with a suit for formal occasions?

I will find some use for this strange bezel...in fact, I did, tonight. I set the "0" on the minute hand then told my 8 year old daughter she could watch a TV show for another five minutes. As soon as the minute hand was aligned with the "5" on the bezel, I told her: "Time's up!"

Surely that would make it 25 minutes not 5?

The Seamaster 300 Spectre LE is now on the front page of Omega's web site (shared with Nicole Kidman and the Ladymatic). The latest description eliminates any reference to it being a diving watch, which is a change from Omega's original press release. Maybe someone at Omega read my snarky comments in this thread??? And I now understand how the 0-11 bezel could be used to keep track of a second time zone, so as far as I'm concerned it's a legit offering. Not my particular cup of tea, but legit.

Thus proving the utter uselessness of the bezel! 😁 .... But nice review anyway.

I just stopped by the Omega flagship boutique here to have a look. It's not for me - too many issues, and the Omega on the dial looks even more enormous in the metal. I did like the regular one in titanium with the blue face and leather strap though...

That Strap is gorgeous!
I agree that the styling on the non LE SM300 is so much more balanced and Classic...The SM300 will still endure long after the DVD of Spectre is in the Bargain bin at Walmart.

The most upsetting thing about this new direction with Omega is that in 2-3 yrs (next Bond Movie) this SMLE will be relatively meaningless...it won't be James Bond's watch anymore...

I liked when the SMP, or the Rolex Submariner, or even the PO was the 'Bond Watch'... now every movie a new one in order to cash in...it just becomes so disingenuous ... He's a few movies away from wearing something like this...

I just had a thought (I know, my wife is surprised too!):

We've seen some publicity shots of Daniel Craig wearing the standard SM300, and now we know about the LE which he'll presumably get from Q as a gadget. I'm guessing that the film will clearly show Bond wearing both versions, the regular one first, and later the LE detonator version. What do you think?

Was Daniel as Daniel wearing the SM300 or was Daniel as Bond wearing an SM300? I thought since we now know it is a SM300 LE his character is wearing it would be just that version of the SM300.

Don't know ... Maybe. Despite his apparent preference for Rolex, Daniel does have a few Omegas of his own - supposedly the AT he wore in Skyfall was his personal watch, and his idea. As far as Omega is concerned, the more the merrier - they'll sell more watches that way.

It was either this site or another that someone said they saw Daniel in the OMEGA vintage store in London buying a DeVille chronograph.

Well, good news! This new watch pairs
well with a handcrafted Vodka Martini...

Stolichnaya elit and Omega go quite nicely together...

Right watch, wrong martini! Gin (dry, please, only one olive) or nothing 😉

I hope it is medium dry and shaken, not stirred. Handsome pair!

Have you used the bezel yet?

I find that my SMPc is a fine wrist companion while making and enjoying a Vesper Martini ...

Ok, for you...Boodles or Plymouth?

And, since it's gin, it will be stirred, not shaken!

But of course! Medium dry. I use a bit of Noilly Prat Dry vermouth. While it's the fashion to just wave the vermouth bottle past the Vodka, I believe in a medium, not bone dry, Martini. I was out of lemons, so, instead of a lemon peel, used an olive...

Stolichnaya elit is first rate. Worth drinking ice cold and neat. When you're not in the mood for a true Martini, that is.

The bezel...yes, it's helpful when fixing coffee using a French press...and Blue Mountain coffee whole beans...and, yes, you can track another time zone.
