To be clear, I am trying to identify the original box for the big Lindbergh watch.
I believe they don’t have it in the Longines museum.

Yes, but the photo that I posted is of the watch in the middle of your upper photo. As you pointed out, it houses the smaller version, but it is odd that Longines would use a box that is/was merely generic, as @gatorcpa has suggested.

My question is: Why would Longines display an Hour Angle in such a box if they were originally sold in a different style box?
Because they don’t have the one it was sold in? BTW, the box in the Hour Angle ad I posted looked like a modified version of the wooden LeCoultre boxes from the 1940’s.

Sure, that's possible. But it seems a bit unlikely that they would be unable to source a correct box for the display of an important model in their museum. Of course, it may not have been a high priority, but then why use an incorrect box, rather than none at all?

You're (still) missing the point. I know very well that the style of box that the smaller version is sitting in was used for other models. My question is: Why would Longines display an Hour Angle in such a box if they were originally sold in a different style box?
You are right, I posted the picture before reading your answer. I have no explanation as to why they displayed this box, maybe they sourced the watch with this box from the US. As there are no pictures of the real boxes except for the Philips one, I guess they are really rare or unobtanium.

Though they look alike, it is not exactly the same box. The one displayed in the ad has a push button system.

Some LeCoultre boxes had those too. Remember that the importer is the same and both were likely made in the US.

My guess is they're a little hard to find. Sales of the hour-angle were in all sorts of places and perhaps a few types over 15 plus years. This is the only one I have seen. Post-depression sales of all watches collapsed and Longines plumbed sales levels from 40 years before. The large Weems mostly to Wittnauer... have not seen a Wittnauer double branded box to suit.
