Yea this is one of those pieces that is just a question mark until you see the movement shot, what's visible, isn't $300 unless there's something good under the hood.
I'm almost certain that it would be a cal. 352, if the movement is original. Haven't seen many Chronometres that had the blued seconds hand with anything other than the RG series. Without a movement picture, it's tough to tell. Is is the case advertised as gold or gold-capped? gatorcpa
To reiterate - always better to overpay for an excellent example than to underpay for a mediocre one.
Four month and a price drop later I wanted to know.... Here is what I got... Stainless steel case ref. 2516 and lots of rust This is the text who disappeared after the first drop of water A running movement 352 and a nice blued second hand tamura
That's cheap for a 352 on a rare reference in steel! Thought it was some kind of gold. Pity about the lettering.
Price is fair for a good case and 352 parts movement imo. In this case I would have the dial nicely redone or try to source another.
