Found this listing today and wanted opinions from the forum. I am most likely not going to be able to move on this but did want to see what others think about this 18k vintage IWC. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-IWC...223094809?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1c3975a219Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Not bad, IMO. Pics could be better, but looks all original to me. The price is not crazy either, given what IWCs command.
The seller has decided not to take offers, but hasn't changed the listing because they're don't know how or like playing games with anyone who makes an offer. However, I agree with Lou that it might still be a good buy at the asking price.
I agree the pictures are poor. It peaked my interest because from what I could tell the dial looked original, appears to have been serviced and of course is 18k. I am trying to put it out of mind because if I buy it I will be sleeping outside for the holidays.
Looks like he's come down to Earth. Let's see what happens. Yeah, I sort of know what you mean. If he accepts my second offer I'll be listing some tasty other watches.
A couple corrections necessary, and I don't like to edit my posts for more than spelling or trivial items (revisionist history, you know?). 1) The seller is a she, not a he, and she's very honest with her communication. 2) She did see a few somewhat similar IWC's sell for a bit more, and that was a temporary disappointment to her (hence the time period today when she didn't want to accept any offers). I guess she realized that her watch wasn't in the same league condition-wise as those and acted accordingly. She counter offered, I accepted. It was basically splitting the difference between her asking price and my initial offer.
