I recently saw this watch and am thinking about getting one if and when Tudor comes back to the US.

    http://www.tudorwatch.com/en/pelagos/

Does anyone own this model? If so, would you mind sharing your thoughts?

Does anyone have thoughts on Tudor in general? I would be interested in them as well.

    Thanks,
    Nick

This is their update of the venerable Submariner, of course, with a nod towards the "snowflake" hands of the '70s. I'm sure it's very well-made, but I haven't seen it in person. When they do come back state-side, I would like to see this next to the Heritage Black Bay model. Both I think are larger than the older Subs. Their website is a pain to navigate.

I have seen them side by side at an AD and yes they are bigger than the older Subs. I think I prefer the Black Bay over the Pelagos and the vintage looking strap is a winner. I am not too fond of the titanium bracelet on the Pelagos. It's going to be a scratch magnet.

The Heritage Black Bay is really nice too. I love the strap. Is that the aged leather that you can get instead of the steel bracelet?

The Pelagos is a great watch. I've had mine for a couple of months, and thoroughly enjoy(ed) it. Being the flipper I am, it's going back to its original owner later this week!

In general Tudor makes very nice watches. Not for sale in the US for now, but of course they are available in Canada. They use ETA movements that have been modified by someone for Tudor. The modifications include decoration, changes to shock protection, and removal of the Etachron system in favour of regulating pins.

Case work is quite good as you would expect from Rolex. Nice watches overall, but not exactly bargains IMO. Just like with Rolex, I prefer vintage models...

Tudor seems to be hitting in all six lately - what a great choice - Pelagos v. Black Bay.

Here is my Pelagos, just picked it up a week ago. Love it! Especially the lume at night is bright as hell.

Purposeful no non-sense looking watch. The chapter ring with cut-outs for the luminous markers is very Seiko Orange Monster - and that's a good thing, because if there's one thing the Monsters do right it's lume.

Agreed; they also did a good job on the lume for the Heritage Black Bay...
