After the 37mm JLC RdM, I still had a hankering for a 37mm Master Moon. I started liking the black dialled version after seeing a lovely example from Robert-Jan. After an exchange of emails, Spiki pointed me in the direction of one from Denmark on Chrono24. Spiki's had a hand in enabling my Reverso and my RDM, so off I went. The seller and I skyped, and it was a pleasant surprise to find out he and I were in the same profession, plus he was a really nice chap. After sorting out shipping difficulties (insured shipping out of Denmark costs $270!), I finally got the watch today. Some quick shots on the iPhone: The 37mm size is perfect for my wrist, though as usual the standard strap is too long for my skinny wrists. The design harks back to the 1950's TDMPs and is nicely balanced, IMO. And here's where it meets its 37mm cousin... ... and its ancestor As a plus point the seller included the 2002 JLC Catalogue as well. My first real (vs PDF) JLC catalogue. It's going to go off to get a new strap and get serviced next week, which means I won't see it for the next 2 months or so. Ah well. Pretty chuffed with this new acquisition. Thanks W for your 3rd JLC enabling effort!
Blame Warren ... Seriously, I've got a JLC thing going on ... I love the 37mm size, their slim cases, and their dials! Lucky for me your 37mm Memovox has been sold ...
Those are beautiful!!! I have been resisting JLC for a while now... I'm still enjoying my Omega addiction as a gateway drug.
Hard to resist those JLC's and LC's, isn't it? There a lot of watch for the money. Nicely done! I have just one bone to pick: the Futurematic is more of the ancestor of the RDM than the TD/MP. JLC did make TD/MP model with a similar layout in the 40's and 50's, and a reissue in the early 90's.
Great catch Nigel/ I really dig red accent over black dial. Very nice touch....really a worthy choice. More reason to visit Singapore and talk about watches with you guys again (...and of course that Chilli crab with fried mantou)
Congrats - I used to have the silver dial version. Sold it a few years ago as it was just not getting enough wrist time. Cheers, Al
