The "Holy Grail" basically the same watch in the Moonwatch case is worth crazy money but these are often neglected and go very cheap, just the case design doesn't seem that popular
Maybe this is just a stoopid newbie question. Why does the dial say Speedmaser and the case back say Seamaster? Sorry just trying to learn things.
Its an odd peculiarity of the Mark series, some models do have Seamaster casebacks and its correct from the factory.
Maybe because it's so chunky due to the modular case? Pic from Chuck Maddox site Wouldn't fit under my dress shirt cuff !
The case shell on the left with the strap is an adapted/machined one, it gives lugs and perhaps less bulk to the 4.5. Was done by a German watchmaker iirc. (Again, courtesy Chuck)
Lugs look sharp, hopefully Chuck's contact info for the German modder is still correct if the auction goes my way . . .
I like this model very much, and agree, often neglected. Without movement pics, I wouldn't want to spend much more than $1200 best of luck, paul
