Another rarely seen Seamaster, not even in the Omega database.

    Caliber 491 19-jewels ca 1958

Oversize 36.1-mm, note the applied figure at 6 o'clock WITH sub seconds, not possible with a regular 34-mm case.

Completely un-molested, still sporting its original crystal, but not sure about the crown which appears to be from a Constellation, however since this is the first one of this ref I've latched onto it could be correct.

Anyone else have one of these?

No, the dial is just as it showed up in my mail box, all I've done is clean the crystal.

Hello, I have one! I purchased it at an auction in FLA. Ref numbers 2857-2856 1-SC, 491 movement. 19 Jewels, 15890493 dates to 1956
I don't have good pictures. I will try to photograph. My has one difference, the dial is marked with Omega symbol, automatic, then Speedmaster.
On another post, someone said it was redialed. I not so sure. They also said the ref numbers weren't right. I was so glad to see your post because I do believe mine is real. The movement is beautiful. the back case is marked Seamaster at the top and Waterproof on the bottom. Any thoughts on the Speedmaster dial? Also, Omega has responded that they don't know about the ref numbers like you've mentioned in your post.

I think I have an excellent example of the 2857-2856 in 36mm.

I would never have noticed that. Is there any chance you can provide an example of what the correct font should be?
