Another pic, turns out it uses a LiquidMetal bezel too, I wonder if Aldo can redo those yet? :)

I was thinking the same and if being picky we could also point to the spear seconds hand and say that it should be a needle or a lollipop.

I should add that, overall, I am impressed with Omega's efforts on this watch, least anyone get the idea that my comparison was meant to be critical.

It's pretty much official, the beating from my wife will be worth it when I come home with this without telling her...

If it is designed like the old 2913...then the dial is not a sandwich/cut-out dial, but simply a cut groove in the dial, filled up with lume. The dial is solid on the back.
The new one looks promising. Besides what has been mentioned, I think the bezel looks a lot like the old ones, smaller than the PO anyway, but it hasn't got that old lovely concave shape to it
I'm really waiting for the dimensions on this. If the proportions is spot on, max. 40 mm and NOT to fat/high and they don't fit a see-through caseback, well then I could be convinced

Agree 100% with this statement: "I'm really waiting for the dimensions on this. If the proportions is spot on, max. 40 mm and NOT to fat/high and they don't fit a see-through caseback, well then I could be convinced..."

The YouTube video certainly makes it look like it has a smaller face, at least compared to the surrounding bezel. I suspect the thickness will be on par with the current Seamaster Professional 300, but obviously we're just speculating from dark images on the web.

They need the proportions to be significantly different from the Planet Ocean if this is going to be more than a limited edition niche watch. If the proportions are not significantly different from a Planet Ocean, I suspect the watch will fail because, from a marketing standpoint, people will just see it as a "Planet Ocean No Date." The SM300 homage accents and sandwich dial are all nice, but a lot of those distinctions and the historical appeal will be lost on most of the buying public if the watch is too similar to the Planet Ocean in terms of its size and weight.

oh come on!! the display back is my favorite feature of Modern Omegas...how could you justify hiding such a gorgeous mechanism behind metal?

If it bothers you...just wear the watch face up....;)

on a different note.....ceragold/liquidmetal/anti-magnetic/micro-adjusting clasp/Sedna/Possibly ceramic....is there any more Omega gimmicks that they could possibly cram into one watch?

Yeah, it's mostly the old guys that get grumpy about display backs. Tough crowd to please. Get off my lawn! ;)

I like them, as long as it doesn't contribute too much thickness to the case.

I was hoping for a manual for this one but it looks like an automatic, right? Otherwise I like al of it actually. Never said that of a modern Omega in a while.

Pricing is also in there, 5500 CHF approximately which is $6,220 or so for the starting model... very reasonable really

All interesting stuff... the new Master Co-axial (antimagnetic) being used across the new Seamaster range, an interesting Speedy and the world's most expensive G-shock, the Skywalker.

Can't wait to try the 300 reissue and the G-shock.
