What's the longest consecutive day/month/year streak that your Speedy Pro, or any manual wind, has been running.

I bet we get some long streaks!

After being fully winded, my OSP would run for almost two days, without using its functions. I am anyway accustomed to wind it everyday at the same time, checking its accuracy - it takes almost 5 seconds per day, so every three or four days I have to regulate it.

What's the longest streak it's constantly been powered? My buddy has a speedy pro that's has been constantly running since 1995.

I thought it's quite normal for many people to ignore the service period and use the watch for... Well.. Many years.

For or example my grandfather's titoni and a rolex. brought in the 50s , still running after 60 years....

One of these days I'm going to do a post on how much damage gets done to wheels, pivots, and the like from lack of lubrication combined with dirt acting on them for years and years. You should see some of the parts I have with jagged groves worn into them, teeth worn down to nubs, etc. Al (Archer) has shown a very worn reverser wheel a couple times.

Indeed. And I agree that all mechanical movements should get serviced every few years ( every 5-6 yrs in my case). They're just like cars, ignore the oil change and nasty things will happen..

That's just the service interval now, with modern synthetic lubricants. Prior to these, the recommended interval was about 18 months.

Nowadays it just takes to damn long. Plus finding a trusted watch maker is hard. I hate servicing my watches.

And very expensive.. Couldn't find any cheap and cheerful watchmakers in my area so the only option for me would be the factory CS asking ~ $400++ ....

Maybe it's actually cheaper in a long term to sign up for a course and help myself...

Yes - jewels do wear if they are run long enough without lubrication....
