Hi to all. I have a Uniersal Geneve I got from my dad, seems to be in good condition. It s rose gold wit salmon dial. I think he had it cleaned, but I would like to take it to someone who knows the UG brand. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Andy D
Andy, I'm on the other side of the Atlantic, so cant help directly - but someone soon will. In the meanwhile, I'm sure the guys would love to see a picture of the watch - is that possible?
I am starting to dabble a little after 30 years. When I looked for an Avatar, my chess game popped up on my iPad, ha. I am fascinated by the game and how I can from being brilliant to being a boob in sthe space of thress minutes!
Hah - no - not an English major. Was an anthropology major. "A Modest Proposal" has always had an impact on me, though.
I second this original question.. I live on the eastern shore of Maryland and am looking for a jeweler I can trust and start a relationship with for my watches now and in the future.. Anyone have any good names to throw out?
May I suggest you consider capability more heavily than proximity. There are many capable watchmakers out there if you're willing to ship the watch to them.
Zaf Basha, Washington, DC. http://classicwatch.com/vintage-watch-repair That's as close as I can get. gatorcpa
Another suggestion, Jim Michaels - House of Time in Gettysburg, PA. https://m.facebook.com/houseoftime.gettysburg Same distance in other direction. gatorcpa
A second for Zaf Basha at classicwatch.com If you want to reach out further, Paul's Watch & Clock Repair in Sacramento http://www.paulswatchandclockrepair.com/ If you're shipping the watch, distance really doesn't matter.
I can't personally vouch for him/her/it, but there's this listing on eBay and the guy claims to service pretty much any complicated UG. The ony problem (for you) is that he's in Michigan. I have no affiliations with the seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Uni...522651499?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item27ef8bf56bPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
There are UGs and there are UGs. Some watchmakers might do fine with a three-handed watch but be stymied by a Tri-Compax. What sort of UG is this? Any photos?
