Girard Perregaux GP Tri-compax Info?

I just purchased a GP Tri-compax from a forum member, with the watch as described here by that member some years ago.

The watch is still in transit, so I still don't know what size it is yet. I'm wondering if anyone here can shed more light on this watch, such as the approximate year of manufacture, and any other info?

    Many thanks :)

The 287 is a 15"' movement, so 33.2mm. Using a ruler on the photo of the movement, this would make the diameter of the watch 35mm excl. crown.

Regarding the size. I was about to mention that it is customary to ask the seller - usually before the purchase - but I see he has chimed in. It's important to do this with the UGs because size varies from 34 to 38mm with the same movement.

Regarding date of manufacture - this can be derived from the case number, usually found just above the case reference on the outside or insude of the caseback. I believe the watches manufactured fro GP retain UG designations and numbers.

Its definitely bigger than 35 m.m. its on the larger size, and has the largest Tricompax dial size. The watch is likely 37 m.m.

    Thanks everyone.

Can anyone make out the numbers printed here? Do they look like 1060037 and 28639? If so, what do the two numbers mean? And how do I look up the year? Does the number on the movement matter?

Sorry, I'm obviously a noob here!

Nice pick up. I wonder was there many tricompax made for GP, must be quite rare.

Thanks :) Yeah, it does seem to be incredibly rare. Does anyone know how many were made? I saw one here, but it's smaller.

Sorry, which one is a terrible redial? You mean this one? If so, how does one tell? Thanks.

Correct. The GP is in the wrong place. The dial and hands are relumed. And the dial appears to be unsigned.

I can see why you say the hands are relumed but why the dial? Thanks. Bill

Here's a scan from the "Complete Price Guide to Watches 2014". Based on the discussion so far, presumably this is a redial too?
