Sorry, have to put this up front: I’m only interested in contact from members in good standing with a previous history on this forum. Not interested in solicitation from third parties or dealers that don’t have a strong record or presence elsewhere. --- This is simple. And I guess, a little difficult. I am looking for an all correct 1655 with a good, thick case and a warm, patinated dial without serious defects. I am flexible on the mark – but for me it's the warm colors with the orange hand that bring it together visually. Something Rolex never intended of course, …but here we are. So dials with lume that is green, white, or even cream (while beautiful in another way) aren’t something I’m considering. It really needs to, I think the technical term is “bring the funk”. The following image represents the look I’m after fairly well, so I'll just let it do the talking. Would consider trading in with cash plus a 1969/70 1016 and/or a pristine 145.022.74 Speedmaster with a very nice, warm patina. But all cash is also fine and probably preferred. I will bump this every month or so. I'm expecting it to take a while. Update: Been looking on and off – mostly off (but plenty on!) for over a year now. So yes, it’s taking a while. Thanks for reading, and never stop explorer-ing!
Indeed, this and the speedy pro, one of my best friends had an SMP and the other inherited an awesome 1655 from his dad...
