Ah, its just that when he said serve I thought it was an actual establishment, in QLD its more "There's the loo, there's the fridge, there's the TV" when a guest visits.

    lol!
i actually do run a real live working bar in nyc. It's a pretty famous live music venue and you're more than welcome to come visit when you can. The first drink or 20 is on me. Not sure what sort of music you're into but we have it covered...we do 75 to 100 shows per week.

Currently I'm obsessing about the Peak District's finest - Thornbridge. Having stopped at Bakewell (otherwise famous for its tarts and puddings) last weekend, I had to pick up some of their more exotic beers:

Smoked porter? Fax me some of that when you have a chance. I'll put my mouth at the slot - just don't pour it in the feeder too fast.

You got me in the mood to pull this out of the fridge. Made by our local brewery, Boulevard Brewing Company. Have a great tour and better tasting room. Getting the bike ready for a ride tomorrow.

Had it last night - I can recommend it. The Colorado Red was also very tasty.

I was tired of the old stand-bys so I wrote down a few of the beer recommendations and pieced together a nice six-pack over the weekend. I have to say, each beer I was able to find was very nice and will be making a regular appearance in my beer rotation. I never would have picked up an oatmeal stout on my own but I'm a big fan now. Vintage watches and fine beer - this forum has it all. Hey, do you guys know anything about women? ;)

Why yes! I know that whatever I finally figure out will be null & void within 24 hours due to the fickle nature of females. :p

I'm a Southerner and a Scotch drinker but if your going to give me a beer, give me the pride of Chippewa Falls!

Ok, here it goes - why do women ask for opinions when they've already made a decision? For example, over the weekend, my wife is looking online for new towels for the bathroom:

HER: Do you like the blue or the green ones?
ME: I don’t care, either one is fine.
HER: But which one do you like?
    ME: I like green.
HER: I already ordered the blue.

Why does this “conversation” need to happen? Is it just me? I’m so confused. I need an oatmeal stout.

It's a passive-aggressive thing. Women "of a certain age" were raised to treat the man as the master of the house; maybe not explicitly but more than likely that was the example she was presented. Except we all know THAT isn't true and never has been. She's giving you one chance to look like the decision maker. Too bad you blew it. She's not asking what color YOU prefer, you're SUPPOSED to know that she preferred blue.

Where do you want to go eat?
I don't care. Anywhere is fine.
    How about Flounder's?
    I said I don't care, Flounder's is fine. I just won't get the fish.
Won't get the fish? That's all they serve.
    They'll have chicken.
    You hate chicken.
    Chicken is fine.
    How about Coach'n'Four then?
I already said anyplace is fine. You're being annoying.
    Ok. Coach'n'Four it is.
Fine. Do you think they have a steak that isn't quite as fatty as last time?
    etc.

It makes me want to stay home and eat crackers and cheese.

No point in even worrying about that. :) It's like trying to change the weather. I think I already mentioned that I used to drink a lot.
