My father has received the Longines below a long time ago from my uncle.

I have no clue about how old the watch is, what caliber etc. Anyone any information about the watch?

(it will never be sold btw).

    Cheers

From the caseback serial number it looks like a 70's watch. Would be great to see the insides!

Thanks. I dare not to open the case since I have no tools (yet). What - Bergeon - tools would you recommend to open it with?

My favorite tool to open a case is called a "watchmaker". ;)

I guess if you did the math, that would be correct. :whistling: ::facepalm2::

Is that a white gold hallmark on the clasp and case back?

(edit) Next time, read the flipping title....

Assuming the standard omega answers for these sort of watches transfer across to longines for the same period....

There were lots of variations on these dress styles; not usually very sought after and not part of a standard family. Value is usually not very much more than melt, and I would imagine this is doubly so for longines.

Repeating some advice from earlier, longines do a free vintage archives extract service, so get the watch opened by a local watchmaker, get the serial no and see what they can tell you about it's origins. Photos of the movement will also help the experts here.

As soon as my father takes some watches for a service (this one included) I will ask to ask for pictures.
