That shows exactly what I said and we can safely assume that mozambique is bidder #3 o***9 as that is roughly $6k when converted from pounds, sorry maybe I'm missing something but just what is your post meant to be showing us?

I had a bid in the last few seconds that didn't register. Personally I think its a lovely watch but I don't see it as worth £5000. Apparently at least two people disagree

Depends how you justify it really, at this price it was in Rolex 666 Seadweller / Red Sub territory, would I rather this than a 666? probably, but probably not a red sub.

Regarding the fees. Unless it's changed recently I believe eBay UK groups watches with jewellery, which is subject to 12% final value fee, with no upper limit. Coupled with the PayPal fees that's a significant chunk.

There's a 250 quid cap on fees afaik, once you hit that you don't pay any more which is about 5% on the sale price of this piece.

Ah, I got this info from my old dear who is a jeweller. It must be because she is a business seller that there's no cap.

Hi, nothing really just to show that the winning bidder did not appear to have a 0 feedback, if it was a 0 feedback, then maybe we would see this watch again, but in this case I highly doubt it. Nice watch either way, but rich in my opinion.

I can tell you he is furious......

I haven't lost an auction I intended to win for years.

But this price is out there - nonsense.

I thought you'd be there or there abouts.

It's a shame you didn't get it. Obviously for yourself, but I'd have loved to see an after picture, with a bit of a clean.

Well the high bidder could be furious what it eventually sold for. ;)

Andy may have followed advise, perhaps, and listed his watch on the bay in order to maximize price he'd receive. He got a pretty good result, you'd agree. You can comment if a record or not ...

More important, this example did NOT seem an early or late example to give any particular justification for sold price, is there? ... other than a buyer simply wanting to have chocolate.... LoL

whatever the views it's clear decent looking (good looking) examples show price generally trending upward, even if in need of a good service.

    Seriously

I put a bid high to squash any slight over payers - and then a little cushion....

I did not expect it to be anywhere near the end price.

My idea on this watch was that it would be valued in the community at £3800.

    Ahhh, the infamous "nuclear" bid.

I have never used that weapon of wealth destruction... yet! :p
