Prices are going insane! Especially the Sea Wolf. Talking vintage (a completely trashed one in need of a service AND parts just went for almost $400 on the bay...) did I miss a HODINKEE article?!?

True! I remember just recently you could buy very nice examples for around $500-600...

I think it has been a general trend for all dive watches as prices of Omega and Rolex divers have gone up. People want the classic 60s divers look at an affordable price.

I used to collect early Enicar dive watches like the Seapearl and Healthways and those are also pushing close to the $1k mark.

Well said. And they do have a great history so I’m glad they’re being appreciated!

I feel like I stumbled on a good deal. $400.
Being the inexperienced slub I am. When I look around now I don’t see anything close to $400

Remember almost buying a BIN Zodiac Seawolf complete with bracelet for £200 a year or so ago, didn't realise what a good deal it was until after it was long gone.

I'm guessing most of us have been there with mistakes like that.

Really good price, especially including the bracelet. The one I mention on the bay (granted earlier Swiss only dial and no date version) was trashed with no bracelet and went for almost $400. Nicely done!

They are great and were a bit undervalued up to now.
Same counts for the GMT Zodiac Aerospace.

I remember one of the first vintage watches I bid on eBay was a zodiac diver with the exotic bezel and dial. It was in immaculate condition, something rare considering that plastic bezel is generally the first to go.

I ended up losing the auction because I thought "no way I can spend more than $1k on a watch".

What a simpler time that was.

Have fallen for the GMT Aerospace as well. Especially with the blue two tone bezel, and of course those are now skyrocketing in price too!

Anyone buy from eBay seller vakulenko_69 out of Canada? No experience myself just stumbled across his amazing selection. Specializes in Zodiac and apparently services them himself. Prices are on the high end...

Another watch I noticed very high prices for is the Eterna Kontiki. I was fortunate to buy one recently with rare date feature but it is still in transit :-( I'll probably do a dedicated post once it arrives depending on how it looks, but the seller pics are promising:

Looks nice from the photos. I should have gotten a KonTiki a year or two ago before the prices started to climb. I just bought a Super Kontiki 1973 which looks good from the seller's pics. I hope it'll be in by the end if the week and I can evaluate it myself.

My father in law told me the other day that he wants to sell the 1st generation Sea Wolf that he has (which I've posted pictures of a couple times before)- he had purchased it from a friend, and then had it serviced. He was quite surprised when I told him that it's worth far more than what he paid. As much as I'd like it myself, I can't currently afford it. I'm thinking he should hold on to it a while longer though, as it's probably one of the nicest in existence. Essentially mint, including the original stretch link bracelet.

That one is me physically stretching it with my fingers - there is no stretch otherwise.

That's a great looking watch, have him hold onto it until you can afford it.
