For sale is a Zenith El Primero from 1972 in VG condition. Reference A385, Cal. 3019 PHC, serial number 903D856. Watch comes on full, correct Zenith Ladder bracelet by Guy Freres, with the hard-to-find ZKM endlinks, which are correct for the angled tonneau case. Watch was serviced last in 2015. This model is one of the original three El Primeros, and is distinctive for that case, the smoky brown/khaki fume dial, and the ladder bracelet. Dial is attractive and in great shape except for a minor scratch at about 10:00 toward the center of the dial. Crown and caseback are correct. Case has been polished but retains much more of the original facets than most polished examples and looks great on the wrist. Lume has attractive patina that matches the hands. Caseback is correct and SN is clearly visible, but it has scratches and scuffs from its previous life. Why I’m Selling I’m making room for a few incoming watches. I am sad to see this one go as I have really enjoyed wearing this the past couple of years. Hoping it will find a good home. Issues -Scratches on caseback and underside of the midcase. A lot of them. -Polished case. -The red sweep hand was replaced in 2016 – I am not sure of it is a correct part or if it was aged to match.
