I recently purchased what looks to be an early 70's Zenith Octagonal Defy but what I believe is referred to as the rubber shock absorber ring around the movement has perished and only a couple of segments remain. Are these available or am I wasting my time looking for an original and need to find an alternative solution. Any advice or information would be appreciated

I suspect you are eating your time. Many watchmakers are able to machine custom retaining ringsso it's not the end of the world.... It will probably cost you though
