Hi All,

I recently acquired a Zenith Chronograph ref 19518 in 18k pink gold, circa 1950. This is my first Zenith watch, seems like it could be habit forming Here a few pics, one wrist shot and a couple with more of a studio feel. If it looks familiar it has changed hands a few times in recent years.

Speaking of hands, there are the only objection that I have to an otherwise lovely watch. Those flat hour and minute hands, especially given the beveled markers, seem somewhat out of place, and a bit too wide. Assuming originality, I'm surprised that Zenith didn't use dauphine.

 

Interesting point, though I have seen several of this reference around with the same hands. I agree that dauphine hands would look appropriate.

The hands are original for this reference. Also, UG has a sister model UNI Compax with the same hands. They are not completely flat but a bit curved it seems to me. Mine for comparison.
May I recommed a blue alligator strap?

Great watch and a great strap! The fixed lug pins are a pain though. I saw a UG uni compax for sale recently that was a match with the same hands.
