I saw that segment this morning. I wouldn't call it fake news. Stuart Varney is a cheapskate, and as typical of most people can't understand why anyone would pay much for a watch that tells time when the same information is available on your phone. So they think that $1,000 for a watch is 'top end' and paying anything more than that is unfathomable. You saw Varney was flabbergasted when told that Zenith sells just below 20,000 watches a year, and those on display were a 'little' bit more than $1,000, more like $7,000 to $8,000 each. Interesting view into how uninformed people are who are actually in the business of supposedly knowing something about business. Yet people like Varney are all frothed up about Uber, BeyondMeat and Tesla who haven't made much, if any, money over years of existence. It shows how irrational Wall Street can be.

I find it hard to believe Varney doesn’t know how much luxury watches cost...a bit of theatre I’m guessing. I was actually surprised that Zenith only sells 20k watches a year.

No, I'm convinced Varney has no idea what a luxury wristwatch costs. It was not an act. He has a blind spot for things like this, as many people do.

Saw the same segment. When he said they sell 20,000 watches a year and each one takes 300 or so hours to make 1,000 bucks a pop Varnery should have said wtf

Bit on the short side. I'd take anyone of those on the table for $1000
