I recently acquired this example of Zenith's first automatic movement, the Cal 133, produced between 1948 and 1951. This one comes to me from France and seems to have been made for the French market. In addition to the "SWISS" beneath the 6, there is also "IMPORTE DE SUISSE" above it. There's also "FAB SUISSE" inside the case back. It's 35 mm in diameter but seems to wear bigger. The movement serial number dates it to 1948. Like its successors the Cal 133.8 and the Cal 135, the Cal 133 is a creation of the brilliant Ephrem Jobin.

Thanks, me too. I'm sure I could make room in the collection for another Cal 71. No, same combination of Nikon D5000, Tamron AF 90 mm F/2.8 Macro lens, indirect sunlight and Apple iPhoto. Just did some tighter-than-usual macros on this one.
