Is anybody certain the red box was for the A386? I thought it was for the more expensive gold pieces?
From my knowledge the red cylindrical box was for gold watches, sometimes was given for steel chronographs. There wasn't boxes dedicated for a particular type of watch, instead depends from the period in which the watch has been sold. Generally bigger box was for chronographs with bracelet and the flat for watch with band.
Congrats and welcome to the club, Nicolas. That's a great looking first edition. Mine says hello.
I actually prefer the A386 on leather over bracelet. But that's just me. Hard to go wrong - except with the nato 😎
I mean that the red cylinder was for both model in steel and gold too.
The black was a later test of color change, there are some with both logo: Zenith Movado
