hello folks, I'm highly interested in the Zenit A27x series. Not so much in the A277 but A271, A273 and A278. While the El Primero series is well documented, I find very information about those. Does anyone know of an overview about the different executions, production numbers and stuff? They also seem to be quite rare. I'm searching for a nice example since months but wasn't successful so far. So if someone can put me in the right direction, I'd be more than happy. PM would be lovely in this case. But I'd also like to know, what bracelets were available for those at the time. The ladder GF course, but I've already seen others. Some convinced me more than others, that seemed to be non original. Thank you very much for your help. All the best!
I love these watches. I have its Heuer brother the 2446 and I would love to find one of these classic Zenith chronos but so far they have eluded me. JohnCote
There's a few of us with the A271 and A273. Some past threads with some of info: https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-dressy-zenith-chronograph-–-and-a-movado-cal-95m.23974 https://omegaforums.net/threads/a273-arrives.33776/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/thoughts-about-this-zenith-146dp.25465/
Thanks for the input. In the meantime I was able to get my hands on an A27r. I'm pretty okay for the moment and looking for two register example with contrasting dial.
Beautiful! I love them but my addiction to the look of the A277, has had me on a quest for 6 weeks now. Still looking....
@Tbone thank you very much. Good luck on your hunt! @eddieskl Thanks. Yes the A278 is really badass. And they are rare as hens teeth .
I sold one of those and I regret it [emoji22] Enjoy it Enviado desde mi HUAWEI VNS-L31 mediante Tapatalk
Took the chance over the weekend and made some new pictures. I have to say the BoR bracelet suits it very well.
Finally the hunt is over. I was all the way looking for the A278, which is the nicest looking one of the series IMO. And I got one eventually...
Regarding the A273, and according to Zenith, this reference is powered by the hand wound 146H movement (produced by Zenith's pont de Martel workshops - Martel Watch Co was aquired by Zenith in 1959) and was on the Zenith catalogue in 1969 along with the first el primero models. The customer had the choice between the traditional Zenith hand wound chronograph or the new El Primero. And do yu guys know why the minute 3, 6 and 9 and clearly distingushed on the minute chronograh register ? It corresponds to the billing periods for telephonic conversations at that time in the late 60's
