In honor of The 2015 Belmont Stakes and American Pharoah's possible Triple Crown win, I thought it would be fun to show off our own "Triple Crowns"! Here's mine, complete today with a new BOR for the 11630. How about yours? Need not be all the same brand Autavia 1163 - Pre Autavia Autavia 11630 - Silver Carrera 1153 N Jeff
I will see your three single-crowned watches with the one on my wrist that actually has three crowns... And a new alligator strap I bought this afternoon from Cie Bracelet Montre!
I never got my Triple Crown. I wanted a solid gold trifecta of Longines date-at-12's - owned 2, but never found the 3rd. Had a few opportunities for a stainless Conquest Power Reserve, but one thing this hobby has taught me is never to settle.
It has turned from a crown into a GRAIL! Even sweeter when we find those and they sit on our wrist for the first time!
This was a tough choice, and the Skyfall did not make the cut. All blue dials and in no favorite order: JLC, Gemini 4, and Fifty Fathoms.
This was a tough choice, and the JLC did not make the cut. All blue dials and in no favorite order: Skyfall, Gemini 4, and Fifty Fathoms. I could probably keep going....
Hold on a second! Isn't Longines the 'Official Timekeeper' of the Triple Crown? Then surely that makes my Triple Crown these golden 18K winners: 1) Admiral 'medicus pulsus' 2) Flagship, date@12, and, Uh ..... Ooh, but wait... It looks like we have a dark-horse winner! ; 3) An 18k Zenith cal 146D Chronograph has slipped through!! Congratulations to the amazing horse, American Pharoah for finally ending the 37-year Triple Crown winner drought .
This is my triple crown. A little pedestrian compared to some of the collections I've seen around here but these are the three I long wanted to get ...
Just had a thought...I have another triple crown... Automatic chronograph, perpetual calendar, moonphase...
My JLC trio of vintage + modern. (I hesitate to label them as a 'triple crown', 'trio' will do fine!) They're all 37mm, which I find is the perfect size for my wrist. A nice mix of complications - PR, alarm, and TDMP - and various dial shades from silver to cream to black.
