    A little one I found.

CD 168.004 marked Inside the case back, caliber 561 ref n° 21XXXXXX. Not in the best condition but I like it...

    Looks fine,

the onyx part on the small hour marker next to the date window has gone. You have to find some black stuff to fill in that gap.

Yes I noticed that. But I fear that trying to hide it by filling with something black might result in a poorer aspect than without touching it....

    Wonder if it's somewhere inside?

I've seen guys have good success with enamel pens from Testors. Granted, they're filling in lettering and engravings on bezels and caseback medallions, but it might work good enough on that marker.

Wait for a better one, this model (and 168010) are not so hard to find

Yes I like it too. I want a strap like that for a JLC - any idea where I can get one in 16mm lug width?

Looks like an Ostrich strap? At least Cousins UK have these in 16mm. I have used them on some vintage Omegas, and they are very good.

It is ostrich. I bought it some years ago in a watchmaker shop, rue Mouffetard in Paris. Not sure I would find another one especially as the patina has nicely darkened it...

Thanks, I didn't think to look there. Unfortunately all the Ostrich ones I can find are darker than I'd like - tan as opposed to that yellow/honey colour. Maybe I'd need to leave it in the sun for a few years.

Hi! I think the color will vary from the pictures quite a lot. This is nature materials.
I was thinking the same, but bought one to see for myself. Have bought more of the same after that....

I will try that too then! I like tan ostrich, but if I buy a 16mm one for this watch and it doesn't suit, I'll then have to buy another watch to fit it ;-)

When bought the strap was really white/ivory. I wore it on a little vintage JLC and it got this nice natural patina, but it would be difficult to obtain the same result again.....
