Hi all,

I have come across this watch: Omega 2894 Tresor 14K from 1957, cal. 267.
Auction finishes in one day, price still low... for now.

Dial: looks pretty clean, and I can't find obvious flaws. That said, I haven't found the same dial anywhere (the hour markers are usually different, or include numbers - for example here on OF). The second subdial is also different than in most referenced models. However I think these watches had plenty of variations, so unsure what to think of it.

Dial color: is this patina or is it the original color of the dial?

Hands / crown: look good IMO

Movement: looks clean

What do you think about this watch overall? Is it a redial?

Thanks in advance.
Lucas

I am not an expert. In my opinion the watch look very nice but i am looking forward for the opinions of more experinced memebers. I also do not think it's a redial.

Based on these photos it looks OK. Really would like a much larger photo of the dial which I think has aged to this color from silver. Case looks to be at least lightly polished.

Movement looks very clean, regulator nearly drop-down center and I see no watchmaker service entries on the caseback. Could have experienced very modest use over the years.

Thanks. I have requested some more photos. Let’s see if I get them.

What do you think the watch would be worth… roughly? I have seen a few sales on similar models around 700-850$ in the private watch section. Does that seem about right?

Sorry, can't help you on value, not something I follow.

Try checking SOLD listings on eBay.

The seller replied and said the dial is gold-coloured. Would that be a bit suspicious? Have browsed hours on the web and can’t find a similar dial which makes we wonder. Asking around 600€.

I really like omega models from the 1950s, and would like without radium / lume. Am
I right in saying the vast majority has some?

That price is OK for a nice 14k watch - if the dial is original and not a redial.

Are the hands ok? I don't remember seeing large black flanges like those? Probably ok, just curious.
