    Hello,

I was looking for an omega constellation and I came across this one.

I wanted to know if the watch can still be saved considering its state.
According to the seller, the watch is in running condition but the date change function does not work.

    Best regards.

I'm no watchmaker but I think these problems (refixing the date window and getting the date change working) should be no problem for a experienced watchmaker. How much is the asking price btw?

EDIT: Do you have a straight on larger picture of the dial?

Actually the watch is on the auction and those are the only pictures that I have unfortunately.
What maximum price would you be wiling to pay ?

Knowing what they go for in good condition, what would you pay?

I guess 700 euros max, I estimate the price for the overhaul at 300 euros. But I may be wrong about those prices.

Not good pics but looks like a fairly decent dogleg.
It’s had a life but the case is still quite sharp.
    Replacement crown of course.
Not convinced that’s an Omega bracelet and one of the end links is damaged.
Late model due to painted indices - so the date change on the 564 can be quite fragile. (Or the auction house don’t know how to use it)
Never seen a loose date surround before (I wish they’d stop moving it as it will damage the dial)
If the quickset needs replacing and plus re-seating the date surround you might be into a little bit more for the service.
As it’s a pie pan I think I would take a punt for this at 700euros.

it looks rather decent. I would put 900 euros max but i could fix it myself. I'm skeptical about the bracelet. Bid rice endlinks with flat links bracelet... the date function can be damaged on these 55x movements if not serviced finely. The date disk teeth can be damaged or the date mecanism faulty. If I'm correct the date correction is made by moving the hnds from 9 to 12 with this kind of device.

I’m pretty sure the OP’s watch will be a 564 quickset movement.

    Edit
    “Should be a 564....”

Hi peemacgee. I wasn't sure. If it's a quickset date by pulling the crown, the part 1530 is often the source of the problem. If not lubricated correctly it can break. 20190203_140141.jpg
