Hi, So basically I'm looking for a Speedmaster 145.022 and I came across one to sell, but since the bezel was a bit damaged I decided not to buy it. Later the seller proposed me another 145.022-68ST which he also have on sale for a higher price. However if both of them are 145.022-68, the bezel should be a DON, right? Appreciated your thoughts on the conditions of those as I know there are lots of details to look at that being a newbie I'll most likely overlook. Asked prices were 3700€ and 5500€ by the way. Thanks.
Yes, should be DON. I would take #1 over #2. Lume plots and case look nicer to me. But remember, correct DON can set you back 2k!
Vicke is correct ... the second has an incorrect bezel, as does the first. My .02 is that you will be hard pressed to find a perfect transitional under 4K these days. But yes, they should both possess a DON if they are -68's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They should come with a DON and a 1039 with 516 bracelet. Those two items alone cost $3-4K. Watch #1 has missing tritium on the 1 o'clock marker, I would prefer the second watch.
Second watch is the nicest but at EUR5,500/US$5,800. @fibonacci086 you beat me to it. Has a DON and 1039/516.
Both have incorrect bezels. It's hard to be sure from one picture but at first glance I prefer no.1. Edit - Just noticed parts of the minute track are missing on watch 1, so neither is setting my heart pounding.
Another to compare. Full kit. https://omegaforums.net/threads/incredible-speedmaster-145-022-68-transitionnal.45363/
Hey @nunomduque if you're hunting a [ -68 ] Speedmaster continue your search using the hints above, looking through the For Sale section here at what has sold, take note of condition (of the Lume, case polish, how much or not, etc). If you haven't already, take a look through the many threads here in the vintage omega threads as there's a wealth of info posted by many members. Lest I forget, speedmaster101.com is a good starting point reference written by one of the members here who you may quickly recognise. Good luck on the readin' n huntin'
I think your right, trying to look closer No.2 looks like most of the lume is missing? Really hard to see though.
If you want a -68... here's your chance I would think. Take a look at the Speedmaster101 price charts, you'll have tl decide for yourself how much you want to pay, but I seriously doubt you'll find a good one for a cheap price at any point in the near future.
Second one has missing lume for sure...You should continue your hunt...Isn t the best part of the hobby
Many thanks everybody. I'll definitely follow the advice and keep looking. Neither of them convinced me and it's probably better keep looking around ;-)
