Thank you for your order. While we wait for your fries to cook, did you know that the inventor of French fries was a French army medical officer named Antoine-Augustine Parmentier? He was captured in the Seven Year War and was served potatoes as prison rations. This was unusual because at the time, potatoes were only used for animal feed since they were believed to be poisonous to humans. He was one of the first people who claimed that potatoes were edible to humans and started cooking, baking and frying them up. He had one hell of a time convincing people that potatoes are delicious though, but French fries and the sort started to gain popularity eventually when the people didn't have anything else to eat.
