This one got ugly when it got crunched up by a dog. Archer made it pretty again, but you can look up the results, because this is the ugly tree thread. View attachment 1493336

Okay, I'll risk being pilloried, I'm not a big fan of Speedies. I'm not sure that they are ugly but I think that three sub tachys are kinda tacky looking.

Easy answer for me: no offense, but I've never understood anyone wanting to wear one of these monstrosities.

Cool watch. I dig it.

We're talking authentic Omegas here, not fakes. For me, many of the 1970's designs, although not all. Not entirely Omega's fault. With a few exceptions like music, it was just a really bad decade for architecture, clothes, shoes, hairstyles, cars - pretty much anything involving taste. 🤮
At least they had the good sense not to hire Gerald Genta, a man who distilled all the ugliness of the 70s to a size you can fit on your wrist…

Flightmaster in side view. Sorry to all its fans but this is not for me, dial is cool.
The Dynamic with the oval case, again too weird for me.

But both these watches wont be mistaken for anything else, and thats a good thing I guess.

This would give others a good fight for ugliest
I would say that is probably the least offensive looking of those on this thread. The dial could have been more sophisticated but I don't understand the hate.

Fair enough. I do like the flightmaster so my taste may be questionable. They are surprisingly comfortable also.

I find this watch a tortured anachronism. It doesn't so much arise hatred, as bile. It makes me think of a freshman design school project, and not in a good way.

"Let them wear watches on Halloween" would be a good theme for this watch.

Jethro Tull carried me through the disco years....but I did like the BeeGees
I was going to give a like for Tull, but then you used The BeeGees in the same sentence. Shame, shame!

Lest we not forget perhaps one of the single most earth-shattering bands of that decade... Starland Vocal Band and their complex hit single, "Afternoon Delight".
Please, I just ate!

I did a thread on this a few years back.

it’s the rarities that are the most challenged in the looks dept.

Watches you would swear are fakes.

Any of the Bond-branded watches, with exception to the two latest versions that are tastefully done.

I don’t mean to offend anybody who likes this particular Omega Dynamic, but it gets MY vote for the U G L I E S T Omega ever foisted on the watch buying public. It was offered in a variety of colour combinations, not a one of which redeems what (to me) is the worst style the company ever offered. I don’t know how long it took for them to wake up, and scrub the design. F U G L Y!

I think I have to agree that this is the worst (so far). I can understand (not appreciate) the novelty or purposeful gaudiness of some of these others, but this one is just really ugly and boring at the same time. Even the crown looks ridiculous and out of place (assuming it's correct?).

I own and absolutely love any number of ugly Omegas. Pretty much everything from the 70s falls in to that group:

For true hideousness, you have to step outside of Omega

I was a huge JT fan and as long as it’s pre-1980, I’m still a devotee (notwithstanding the pomposity of a certain perched-on-one-leg band leader). For the record, I’m also a Pistols, Clash, Who, Midnight Oil and Rush fan.

That said, after watching the recent BeeGees doc on Netflix, I’ve renewed respect for the band (I’m just as surprised by that remark as anyone). Not enough to buy their records, but they were very gifted songwriters. Interestingly, the SNF/disco thing was a totally unplanned, yet lucrative coincidence.

Give me Minstrel in the Gallery any day.
