@Mad Dog, I can’t decide if you or your board are in better shape. There’s a suspicious lack of patina in both cases. If this is your mid-life, you’re gonna be one old dude.

Now this is how a one owner, on the limit board should look after more than 40 years...

My Benjyboard with ACS651s and 65mm Kryptonics used mostly at the Arrow Skate Park in Wolverhampton, an indoor park on 2 floors full of insane bowls and pipes....mid-‘70s I think.

Already did the Menoporsche thing at 30, so at 52+ I‘m almost out of time 🤬.

Better check my Bucket list.

Ridiculous punks up the street: “Look at that old man Mad Dog pretending like he knows how to skate...with all that new Vans stuff on...what a loser!”

Mad Dog: “Come over here and say that you ridiculous punks!”

I married my mid life crisis. Don’t think she’d be too pleased to be posted here...

Ditto

Probably the best decision, I ever made

@Longbow

No fake vintage Lume or patina here. War marks are from day one. Complete with my 80s Varnet sticker ::facepalm1:: lol.

I remember wanting a set of day glo slime balls for this so badly.

I had a set of slime balls on my Hosoi Hammerhead😝
Retired after my third broken bone but loved downhill long boarding well into my 20’s. Still wear Vans👍

...Didn't go for the Vans back then, but the checkerboard designs were all the rage.
I didn’t go for the Vans back then either. The checkerboard is still alive and well [see Vans tags pictured below from today’s purchases]. I’m still not a fan of the checkerboard...it reminds me too much of Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. 😁

Yes, you really could use a Vans helmet. And probably Vans sunglasses.

True. Regarding the helmet, the Mad Dog “bad hair day helmet” will have to suffice for now...it’s very durable...but also wicked hot during the summer months...

Im 49 this year, and I’m hoping to locate one of these! Not because I want a Rolex, but because I can’t get it off my mind! I think that bezel and jubilee bracelet combo are perfect!

This was midlife crisis Stage 1...GT500 w/SVT Handling Package. A dip into the Ford Racing catalog and some aftermarket tuning brings it to 700hp. Just passed 35k miles and now on its 4th set of very expensive tires.

My last skateboard was sold for a couple of bucks by my dad many years ago. I had left it at the house when I moved to a condo in an area where riding was not practical (or needed). I think it had Tracker trucks and Bones wheels; the board was made by my grandfather and I during a summer visit a few years earlier. Got the car thing out of my system in my 20s and 30s with a 5.0 Mustang, an Eagle Talon and a 911. For me, my mid-life crises method of feeling younger is trying to keep my 5 year old from killing himself or knocking down the house 😁

Well played.

Mine will likely be a very fast Ram pickup. I'm presently at my limit of n+1 on the bike front, so I need something a bit more....practical?

Hit 50 and bought a convertible. It's a bit like a skateboard, but not as fast...
