My lovely radio.
That looks like quite the boombox. All you need are the 20 D-cells, white Adidas and big gold chains!

I am not old enough for a mid-life crisis unless I am going to die at 74. I do have my toys already in place for when it rolls around though.

Nice thread. Still, I have to wonder if most posts are really indicative of an existential mid-life crisis, or if you all are just using the concept as an excuse to buy cool stuff you don’t need? 😗

I wish you guys would stop posting skateboards, it triggers flashbacks..................

A 30 something Dad one Christmas morning at the Xmas barbie breakfast where copious amounts of bubbly and bacon were being consumed.

Being held at his home, no need to drive so the bubbly was going down like it was 10 cents a litre.

Young boy child comes by to show the adults his best Chrissy present ever and does a spin or two to amuse them.

Dad says "Outa the way Son, I'll show you how it's done" as he chomps another mouthful of bacon buttie and washes it down with bubbles.

Leaps on the skateboard and one thong slips sideways, the skateboard and parent career down the concrete driveway, spilling champers and bits of bacon roll until the inevitable happened ten feet into the journey.

Do you know how many parts of your body hurt after a hard landing? Ankles, skull, elbows, coccyx, pride ............................

I still wake in a cold sweat at night sometimes, and it's not the Nam memories (my experience there was sheltered compared to others).

The way I figure is that a mid-life crisis is usually less of a crisis and more of a man finally being able to afford some of the things he has wanted since he was thirteen. I've always wanted a Moto-Guzzi Eldorado (my dad rode one) and I am just now starting to make enough money to be able think about buying one in the next couple of years which will coincide with me hitting my forties.

That’s the kind of mid-life crisis I wanna have, too. In my case, I’d then have to get a steel/gold Navitimer and, um, Erika Eleniak (...just for clarity: that’s referring to what I wanted when I was thirteen, and not to what my dad rode 😎)

Yes, you really could use a Vans helmet. And probably Vans sunglasses.
OK...just purchased the Vans sunglasses at my local skate shop...AND...for the record, they’re Vans Spicoli foldables. Remember Jeff Spicoli [Sean Penn] from the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High? 😁
